SUSIE WHITCOMBE is British born in 1957. Whitcombe, a founding member of the Society of Equestrian artists, studied at the Heatherley School of Art in London and has been painting portraits of horses and people in oil and watercolor for more than 30 years. She has exhibited in London, Tokyo, and Melbourne. A versatile sportswoman, she has ridden races as an amateur jockey. She went on to train under John Walton at the Heatherley School of Fine Art in London and developed an appreciation for the work of Wilfred de Glehn, Joseph Crawhall and Tom Coates. She has been a regular exhibitor at leading galleries in London, Kentucky, Melbourne and Tokyo. Particular about colour, freedom of line and brush stroke, Susie likes to work quickly and instinctively.
