Artist Tony Oswald (Louisville, 1928-2001) gained worldwide recognition in 1973 for his paintings of stills at the Kentucky Derby as they were used in CBS...when Secretariat won.
Oswald's talent for capturing the essence of horse racing is widely known. Here is a picture of Secretariat with Jockey Ron Turcotte.
